There are many elements to creating a resume that will get you an interview. Choosing a legible font size is important (10 – 12 point fonts are ideal). Avoid very small fonts to pack a lot of information on your resume. I have seen resumes written in 8 point fonts that are difficult to read. Make good use of white space in formatting. Of course, proofreading is crucial. If possible, try to allow time between writing your resume and sending it off. It is easy to get so close to your document that your eyes will not catch errors. It is best to create your own and have it reviewed by a professional career coach.
