Employers are using one way videos more often as a screening technique in place of phone calls. So it is time to get comfortable with recording yourself. Once you do that, remember, you cannot know what the interviewer wants to hear, so answer from your point of view. In addition, candidates are often too serious in the interview and the employer does not get to know the ‘real’ person, so be yourself. Learn to walk the fine line between being professional and personable. The best way to prepare is to practice, practice and practice again. This will help you get comfortable talking about yourself to a stranger. Also, consider conducting a mock interview. And the bottom line is the individual who shows genuine passion (this cannot be faked) for the role is more likely to be a serious contender.
